Congratulations on your new Dubai apartment! Before you settle in, there are essential steps to handle in the right order. This checklist keeps you on track.

Before Move-In Day

1. Collect keys and access cards from landlord or building management
2. Complete DEWA activation (electricity and water)
3. Register Ejari (if not already done by your agent)
4. Set up internet — du or Etisalat (book 3–5 days ahead)
5. Photograph the unit condition for your records
6. Confirm parking allocation and access gates
7. Get building gym, pool, and facility access cards

First Week

1. Register with building security (tenant details, emergency contacts)
2. Update your Emirates ID address (within 30 days — mandatory)
3. Set up Salik (road toll) if you drive
4. Register for RTA parking permits in your area
5. Find your nearest supermarket, pharmacy, and clinic
6. Locate fire exits and building evacuation routes
7. Set up automatic DEWA bill payments
8. Save building management contact for maintenance requests
